CATALINA ISLAND DEBRIS FLOW BARRIER

Location: Catalina Island, California Timeframe: 2007-2008 Client: Long Beach Unified School District Description: Because of the extensive slope denudation caused by fires near the City of Avalon and the threat of large magnitude debris flow events to the local school, KANE GeoTech, Inc. was contracted to design the plans for the construction of two Geobrugg UX® debris flow barriers and the use of Geobrugg TECCO® drapery along three adjacent slopes.
